Do this today

The 15-minute first hour

Forget perfect. The leaderboard rewards fresh listings with a 48-hour boost. Get one asset on the board tonight.

  1. Generate 1 asset — pick a runner sprite or a fire FX (highest baseline demand).
  2. Title format: [adjective] [character/effect] · [primary action] pack. Example: Neon Ronin · run pack.
  3. List at $24 one-time + $40/yr. One-shot pricing captures impulse buyers, annual captures pros.
  4. Embed the live demo on itch.io / your portfolio. (One-line iframe, see move 2).
  5. Post the 5-second loop on Twitter/X with #gamedev #indiedev tags. Pin it to your profile.

Most creators don't do step 4 — that's the biggest single conversion lever in this entire document.

The 8 moves

In order of impact, with the exact steps

1

Searchable title & sharp tags

Your title is 80% of organic discoverability. Be benefit + specific.
A
Pick a style adjective (neon, cyberpunk, voxel, comic, pixel).
B
Add the concrete subject (ronin, knight, dragon, bullet).
C
End with the format / action ("run pack", "FX loop", "tileset").
D
Tags: always include type + subtype + action + style. Don't be cute — be searchable.
"Neon Ronin · run pack" gets 2.6× more clicks than "cool ninja guy".
2

Live playable demo

Buyers convert ~4× more when they can press buttons before paying.
A
Open your asset in the Try-it player.
B
Copy the embed iframe — brunoapi.com/embed/your-slug?ref=YOU — that ?ref= earns you affiliate revenue.
C
Paste on itch.io, your portfolio, your devlog. Anywhere a gamedev looks.
D
Track impressions in Account. We attribute referred buys back to you.
Embeds drive ~32% of marketplace conversions among creators that use them.
3

Hit the 24-hour leaderboard

Fresh listings get a 48h boost. ★4.8+ avg keeps you there.
A
Time your launch — Sunday evening UTC catches Monday-morning APAC + US.
B
Ping 3 friends to try the demo on day 1 — early reviews seed the rating.
C
If a buyer leaves <5★, reply within 24h — most edit up when you address the feedback.
Top-2 on the 24h leaderboard = ~14× more profile views than the page-6 average.
4

Twitter / X — the biggest single lever

5-second loop · tag your tribe · post twice a week.
A
Export a GIF or MP4 from your asset page (Bruno auto-builds both).
B
Tweet copy: hook + benefit + link. See the templates.
C
Tags: #gamedev #indiedev #pixelart #unity #godot. Pick 3, not 5.
D
Reply to 5 other gamedev posts the same day — algorithm boosts your tweet.
A 1k-follower account can drive 40+ try-its from a single optimised post.
5

Reddit & Discord — inbound channels

You don't post here. You answer.
A
Subscribe to: r/gamedev, r/IndieDev, r/PixelArt, r/Unity2D, r/Unity3D, r/godot.
B
Filter for "looking for sprite", "need an artist", "free asset". Reply within 6 hours.
C
Discord: GameDev.tv, IndieGameDevs, /r/gamedev Discord. Same approach — answer, don't promote.
D
Lead with the try-it embed. Mention the price as a footnote.
Inbound intent on Reddit converts at ~9%. Cold posts convert at <0.5%.
6

Affiliate link — every conversation

Bring paid traffic → you earn 50% of their subscription payments + 50% of Bruno platform commission from assets sold by that referred user.
A
Your link: brunoapi.com/?ref=YOU (find yours in Account → API keys & MCP).
B
Put it into every embed / tweet / Reddit / Discord reply so all traffic is attributed.
C
If your referred user pays a subscription, you receive 50% of that subscription payment.
D
If your referred user sells assets, Bruno platform keeps 25%; you receive 50% of that platform part (i.e. 12.5% of each referred creator sale).
This stacks: subscription share + marketplace commission share from the same referred creator.
7

MCP cross-promo — free AI agent traffic

When devs ask Cursor / Claude Code / Cline for "a runner sprite", your asset surfaces in context.
A
Tag your asset for MCP discovery: type + 3 subtype tags + 1 style tag.
B
Write a one-line description in plain English — that's what the LLM picks up.
C
Free traffic from agents tends to convert higher — devs already have payment set up.
Average MCP-driven sale is $58 (vs $32 from organic) because devs buy multi-asset packs.
8

Pin your top 3 (free) + buy slots for next 3

Your profile is a funnel. The top 3 above the fold do 70% of the conversions.
A
Pin your gateway asset (cheapest one with the most reviews) at slot #1.
B
Pin your highest-margin asset at slot #2.
C
Pin a new release at slot #3 — rotate weekly.
D
Each extra paid pin slot is $5/mo. Buy slot #4 once you have 3 assets earning $50+/mo each.
Each paid pin pays for itself at ~3 sales / mo.

Just dropped a new **runner sprite pack**.
121-frame in-place loop, melee + ranged, transparent alpha out of the box.

Made it in 4 min, listed it for $24 one-shot.

If a runner sprite would unblock you — I have **one** that might match.

Live demo here, you can press the buttons before deciding:

It's $24 once or $40/yr if you ship updates. Transparent alpha, key-bound melee + ranged, no drift between frames.

Happy to render a small variation for free if you DM the prompt.

Not pitching. If you build with it, would love to see what you ship.

Subject: **30-second pitch** — drop-in sprite for **your game**

Hi {name},

Saw {game-name} on Steam — the {genre} vibe is striking.

I make sprite packs that match that vibe. Here's one your players might like, with a playable demo:

Let an AI agent do the work

Pick your agent, paste the prompt, walk away.

Bruno ships an MCP server. Once connected, your AI agent can read your asset library, write listings, post to social, and chase Reddit threads — all from inside Cursor / Claude Code / Cline / etc. You set it up once. It runs.

Your agent:
Step 1 of 2 · connect

Connect Bruno MCP to Claude Code

Drop this snippet into ~/.claude.json. The agent restarts and now has access to Bruno's tools — search, generate, list, embed, promote.

~/.claude.json
Step 2 of 2 · prompt

Paste this in chat

A full agent recipe — finds your strongest assets, polishes the listings, drafts posts, and schedules a weekly run. One copy. One paste.

prompt

The agent will ask for confirmation before posting. You stay in the loop.

The weekly loop

What a properly-wired agent does every Monday

Same playbook as the manual, but the agent runs it for you. Run this as a weekly recurring task.

Audit (5 min)
  • Pull last 7 days of sales per listing.
  • Flag any asset with views > 50 but conversion < 1%.
  • Suggest a title / tag rewrite for each flagged asset.
  • Apply the rewrite on user OK.
Publish (10 min)
  • Pick top 2 assets from last week.
  • Draft a Twitter post + a Reddit comment + a Discord drop.
  • Generate a 30s YouTube short script.
  • Stage all posts for your review.
Hunt (15 min)
  • Scan Reddit gamedev subs for "looking for" posts.
  • Match against your library — find best fit per thread.
  • Draft reply with try-it embed + affiliate link.
  • Wait for your "send" command.
Rotate (5 min)
  • Check pinned slot performance.
  • Swap underperforming pin for a stronger asset.
  • Recommend buying an extra paid pin slot if > 3 assets clear $50/mo.
Pricing strategy

When to use $24 one-shot vs $40/yr

One-shot ($24)
  • Single-project use — game-jams, solo devs, prototypes.
  • FX / tilesets where there's no recurring update need.
  • Lower commitment → higher conversion on impulse buyers.
Annual ($40/yr)
  • Characters with ongoing variations / updates.
  • Studios that ship multi-year, want updates.
  • Higher lifetime value, predictable income.

Default: list both. The mix usually settles at ~65% one-shot / 35% annual for characters, inverse for effects.

Referral terms

Official referral payout model

How referral rewards are calculated when you bring traffic that converts into paying users.

1) Subscription share

For each referred user with active attribution: you receive 50% of their subscription payment.

2) Marketplace commission share

When that referred user sells assets: Bruno takes platform commission (25%); you receive 50% of Bruno commission for those sales.

Quick example

Referred creator sells an asset for $100 → creator gets $75, platform gets $25 → your referral cut is $12.50 (50% of platform part).

Tracking & payout

Attribution is based on your referral URL. Referral earnings appear in Account activity and are paid with standard payout rules.

Now ship one asset. Today.

The whole playbook collapses if you don't have a listing live. Generate the first one. Everything else compounds.
